Project Description
Funded by the European Union in collaboration with Good Neighbors International and Good Coffee Nepal, this project conducted a Market System Analysis for the Coffee Value Chain Development Project (CVCDP). The study examined the coffee value chain across six districts to identify constraints and opportunities for smallholder farmers. It highlighted a structured value chain where net income is distributed among actors (Growers 35%, Traders 34%, Cooperatives 20%, District Unions 11%). The report recommended interventions such as improving nursery conditions, adopting efficient irrigation/processing technologies, and implementing the Nepal coffee logo for traceability.
